RP dribblers enter athletes village

GUANGZHOU—Filipino basketball players finally make their entry to the athletes village today after playing several tune up games in the province of Guangdong while swimmers, taekwondo jins, and world-class cue artists fly in from Manila just in time for the grand opening rites on Friday at the majestic Hai Xin Sha stadium here.

Mercado, Lutz make RP Team

GUANGZHOU–China’s gracious Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee boosted the Philippines’ most loved discipline, basketball, in allowing the inclusion of two key players in the 12-man roster that brought RP’s official total number of athletes to 188 for the 16th staging of the quadrennial event from November 12 to 27.
